The major impediment on the path of IT education in India is lack of infrastructural support. Not all educational institutions can afford to buy computers for their labs. On the other hand, every year thousands of desktops and laptops are disposed of as e-waste by companies, many of which in fact are in very good condition and could be used for a few more years.
Project Green acts as a bridge between this demand and supply of computers in the most productive manner whereby, it not just helps reduce a company’s carbon footprint but also helps support the wonderful cause of supporting underprivileged students.
Major Challenges For Project Green:
- Sourcing of computers
- Refurbishing of computers
- Maintenance of computers
